Highlighting that idea, Creative Minds Talks and Miami Design District’s innovative series, The Art of Storytelling brings powerhouses of fashion, art, architecture, film, music, and literature together in a series of talks designed to inspire, enlighten and entertain. Addressing issues like inspiration, motivation and the future of these creative fields, panelists come together in intimate and frank discussion.
The latest edition of The Art of Storytelling will bring world renowned fashion designer Naeem Khan together with Modern Luxury’s VP of Creative/Fashion Director James Aguiar for a deep delve into the worlds of fashion, design, and some insights into the relocation of House of Khan to Miami.
Both hold major fashion pedigree. Khan launched his eponymous collection in 2003 and began selling at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. Since then his collections have adorned glamorous women around the world, including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Rachel McAdams, First Lady Michelle Obama, Queen Noor of Jordan, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, among others. In 2008, he was inducted as a member of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America and most recently launched the Naeem Khan Bridal collection in 2013. Today the Naeem Khan Ready-to-Wear and Bridal collections are sold at more than 150 retail outlets across the world.
For twenty years tastemaker and Modern Luxury VP Creative/Fashion Director, James Aguiar, has consistently brought a notably fresh and stylized eye to every project during his career. Well known throughout the industry for his colorful personal style, chronicled consistently by Bill Cunnigham, Aguiar has put his signature stamp on dreamy display windows, dramatic high-concept fashion shoots, event designs as well as published interior design projects. He consults regularly for fashion brands looking for a unique eye.
