Social media has taken the world— and the Miami Design District —by storm in 2016. Here are some of the best moments of the year #atMDD.

It’s hard not to snap a pic of the pastel macarons at Laduree. The tasty French transplant located inside Chrome Hearts was definitely a social star this past year.

Mega-chef Marcus Samuelsson took over the kitchen — and our Facebook feed! — at Cypress Tavern during his live cooking demo where he created his bloody mary inspired breakfast dish and answered questions from the crowd.

But the highlight of the year was The WKND, when some of the world’s social superstars explored the Miami Design District for the weekend. Included in the group were influencers like Negin Mirsalehi, the Beckerman sisters, Danielle Bernstein, and more. And Karolina Kurkova even made an appearance!

Olivia Cuplo couldn’t resist taking a picture with Sou Fujimoto waterfall — and can you blame her?

Speaking of The WKND, here’s a recap of everything that went down.

2016 brought a healthy dose of zen to the District courtesy of Dawn B. and Yogart and the grand opening of Ahana Yoga.

We couldn’t leave out Art Week from our 2016 roundup or Loewe’s own Jonathan Anderson taking us through his top spots #atmdd on Instagram. What’s on his list? Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink of course!

WeWoreWhat’s Danielle Bernstein returned after a fantastic WKND in October and made an appearance at the opening of the Gagosian/Deitch Desire exhibit curated by Diana Picasso in the Miami Design District during Art Week.

Buckminster Fuller’s Fly’s Eye Dome in Palm Court remained the place to get the perfect shot #atMDD, and if you have a Dior bag in hand — all the better.

@love.watts also took a stroll through the Miami Design District including a stop at Cartier. Have you been spotted #atMDD yet?  Tag us and you might just be one of 2017’s social best. Here’s to next year!
