Leave it to French maison Hermès to throw one of the most epic parties Miami has ever experienced. As a reveler myself, I’m can attest to this bold statement. Yes, on Friday, May 31st, Miami’s VIPs gathered in the Design District for Hermès’ “A Man’s World, Miami” presentation. Spearheaded by Hermès Men’s Artistic Director Véronique Nichanian and Argentine artist Leandro Erlich, the Moore Building was transformed into a virtual funhouse — a U.S. first.

With the bubbly flowing and Hermès–clad male models aplenty, the exhibition combined fashion and art in a novel manner. Aerialists performed, mind-blowing illusions played tricks on guests’ minds and theatrical installations had revelers’ scratching their heads in disbelief and awe. Such illusions included a long corridor of faux mirrors and makeshift elevators outfitted with sporty models. Each model donned Hermès from head to toe and accessorized with a twist of sport — from juggling balls to snorkeling masks to chess playing to skateboarding.

Interactive in every sense of the word, guests received personalized messages, too. In a makeshift locker room, for example, guests’ names were written across steamy magic mirrors with tongue-in-cheek messages such as, “Maria Tettamanti, Your Most Memorable Strike-Out?” Did I mention the ladies and gents went wild for the shirtless models in said locker room? They certainly did. Boxing rings and photo booths added to the playful atmosphere, as well.

A sexy mélange of leather, silk, cashmeres art and men, Hermès staked its claim as the coolest brand in the luxury world that night. And it took only four sweet hours to do so.
