With temperatures finally cooling down and Fall is in the air, one more important thing happens — truffles arrive! The truffles we’re discussing are of the fungi variety. While the item has grown in popularity over the years, with black truffles found almost year round, the creme de la creme of the truffles is the white variety, which can only be found in the cooler months.

For hungry foodies looking to indulge in the fragrant truffle, the Miami Design District has two restaurants to fill your truffle fix: MC Kitchen and Oak Tavern.

At Oak Tavern brunch, lunch and dinner menus all feature truffle. For brunch try the Soft Scrambled Eggs and Bacon Pizza with Creme Fraiche, Fontina, Chives and Truffle ($18) or the Steak and Eggs with Truffle Butter and Home Fries ($24). For lunch dine on a delicious Duck Pizza with Mushrooms, Fontina, Creme Fraiche and Truffle ($16) and for dinner try the Yellowtail Snapper with Gnocchi, Roasted Corn, Shitake, Truffle and Salsa Verde ($20) or the Rabbit Sausage with Gnoochi, Tallegio and Truffle ($16).

At MC Kitchen chef Dena Marino can add truffle to almost any menu item! The truffles currently featured on the menu are from Alba and Marche and can be added on for an additional $45-65 per 2 grams. Some of Marino’s signature dishes also feature truffle such as her Aspen Famous Truffle Fries ($13), Artichoke Heart Bruschetta with poached eggs, fonduta and shaved truffles ($24), and Roasted Pear and Cheese Fiocchi with robiola, grana padano, ricotta, and white truffle cream ($18).
